Joanne Knight

About

Joanne Knight is an Australian writer, who has lived in San Francisco, Melbourne and Sydney. I’ve worked with activists to raise the minimum wage in Mountain View, CA. Over the last ten years I have been employed and volunteered as an advocate in community legal centres in Santa Clara, CA, Melbourne and Darwin. I have a law degree from Northern Territory University (now Charles Darwin University) and completed a Masters of International Relations at Monash University in 2011. My 2007 article Uncertain Crimes has been recommended by the Monash University International Criminal Justice Project.

I believe in equality, especially economic equality, and have written in The Age newspaper about the ways that the current economic system seriously undermines and continuously dismantles any attempts to bring about a fair distribution of wealth in the world. I am a big fan of Yanis Varoufakis “The Global Minotaur”. I have also written on human rights, employment law, housing, terrorism.
